What is the recommended image resolution?Updated 2 months ago
The higher the resolution, the better the quality of your printed photo puzzle. The final product clarity depends on the resolution of the original photo, as well as the number of pieces chosen. Please see image minimum sizes below (and note that these minimums are for to puzzles that showcase only 1 photo):
- 48, 100, 200, or 500 pieces: minimum of 1600 pixels on the longest side
- 1000 pieces, SMART SORTED, or Advent: minimum of 2500 pixels on the longest side
- 1000 XXL and 2000 pieces: minimum of 3500 pixels on the longest side
You can check the dimensions of your photo in the file details on your phone or computer. If you don't know how to do this, feel free to reach out for help!
If your image isn't large enough to meet the requirements above, we recommend creating a photo collage puzzle. Because each image on a collage puzzle is smaller than the finished puzzle, a smaller minimum image size is required.
After uploading your picture and adding it to your puzzle design, our design software will show you a rating of 1 to 5 stars indicating the resolution of your photo. This rating can help you determine whether or not your image is suitable for the chosen puzzle format.
See the rating guide below:
- 5 stars = excellent
- 4 stars = good
- 3 stars = average; printed puzzle may be blurry
- 2 stars = poor; printed puzzle will appear blurry
- 1 star = bad; printed puzzle will be very blurry
*Please note that this scale only refers to the resolution of your picture. Our software cannot assess the image sharpness and general picture quality. The larger the chosen design for your puzzle, the higher the necessary image resolution. We cannot modify the resolution of your file. Additionally, our team cannot process refunds due to insufficient image quality. Please check the quality of your image before submitting your order.
